B.Sc. Geology is a 3 years long undergraduate level Bachelor of Science Degree course. This course can be pursued after completing 12th standard (Science stream).

B.Sc. Geology or Bachelor of Science in Geology is an undergraduate Geology course. Geology is the science that comprises the study of the solid Earth and the processes by which it is shaped and changed. Geology is the scientific exploration of the planet Earth,wherein the Earth is a geologist's laboratory. Geologists study rocks, fossils, minerals, and the processes by which they were formed over the Earth's 4.6 billion-year history. Many problems in geology are much like solving a puzzle. A common task for students is to present a possible clarification of the events that occurred to produce the landscape surrounding them. They learn to recognize signs of hidden valuable ores, minerals, and fuels so that they can be extracted and used by mankind. Geology, an interdisciplinary subject helps in investigating and finding answers to many practical questions of daily importance, as well as those that have more long-term consequences. Geologic information is very useful to Government and businesses to develop infrastructure and live in harmony with the natural environment. Geology offers students, professionals, and the public the tools for understanding relationship between the Earth and people. 

 

 

Admission Procedures

Duration- 3 years Eligibility- Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or its equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics

Candidate intrested in seeking admission are required to register through  Centralised  Admission Process (CAP) of the university of calicut ,irrespective of the quota                                  (General Merit/Reservation/sports/Community/Managment) 50% of the seats are set aside for the general merit list as per CAP and remaining 50% are reserved for managment  quota.The  managment reserve the right to reject any application without assigining reason.

 

The college will issue application directly only the candidates seeking admission under the managment quota.The candidates shall produce print out of the online application to get application from the college .The college will not issue application to candidates without a valid CAP registrationCandidaate who wish to applay under this quata should collect the prescribed form from the college office for a fee of Rs 300/- 

Fees structure for the merit quota and for the Management Quota & NRI Quota will be announced later after executing agreement with the Government of Kerala.

If any candidate admitted against "Government or Management Quota" discontinues the studies, after the closing of admission, to join other courses or college or other purposes he/she is liable to pay the entire course fee or the fee for the remaining years whichever is higher.

After this date all students leaving the college for any reason has to be paid the entire course fee or the balance fee for the remaining years irrespective of annual family income/nationality/reservation seats.

Scholarships are available to meritorious and financially backward students. Full fees and partial fees will be given as scholarship. Students should apply separately for availing scholarships.
